Kohler Co. is a leader in kitchen and bath plumbing products, decorative tile, engines & generators, and golf & resorts. As part of their sustainability strategy Kohler has launched the WasteLAB. Asking the question, “What if the word ‘waste’ didn’t exist?”, the WasteLAB is working to find the potential and beauty in landfill-bound industrial by-products.
The WasteLAB has partnered with Michigan Tech’s Consumer Product Manufacturing Enterprise to develop economical and environmentally sustainable ways to re-think the handling of existing resin waste streams.
Team Lead - Robert Dupont
Howdy! My name is Robert Dupont and I am a 4th year chemical engineering student with a minor in polymer science and engineering. I grew up in Sparta, MI but my family currently lives in Oak Harbor, OH. I have recently completed a co-op with Bemis Company, Inc. as a process engineer working closely with blown film lines. This is my third semester in CPM with my first two semesters being spent on the Kimberly-Clark team that was focused on sustainable packaging. Most of my spare time is spent with my friends doing everything from backpacking around the UP to playing tabletop or video games.
