Kimberly-Clark: Consumer Friendly In-home Polyethylene Flex Film Recycling System

It all started when…

This project would design a consumer-friendly in-home polyethylene flex film recycling system that would enable consumers to easily collect and recycle K-C product flex film packaging (and any other compatible flex film packaging) and return a clean source of PE
flex film back to recyclers.

The system design would ideally include:

1. An in-home collection system/approach for flex film packaging that encourages and enables the consumers to easily separate, store, and return a clean source of flex film packaging for recycling
2. An approach that fits within well within a typical busy family household, and ideally “nudges” or incentivizes consumers to build the habit of recycling flex film packaging
3. A proposed collection service business model that gets the recycled, clean source of flex film back to recyclers in a way that is useful to them.
A successful system created by this project could greatly increase capacity for worldwide consumers of Flexible Film on their products.
